Baguio City is now under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ ) and more and more tourism establishments have reopened. One such establishment that welcomes back its patrons is Baguio Country Club (BCC). This mountain resort hails from an immensely rich history of more than one hundred colorful years. It is a history that begins against the multi-faceted backdrop in the turn of the 20th century, amid Filipino revolution against Spain, an ensuing Filipino-American War and subsequent American occupation of the Philippines.
With a history dating back to 1905, BCC is one of the most famous historical establishment in the Summer Capital City, and one of the most revered exclusive membership clubs in the Philippines. In its century of existence, the Baguio Country Club has catered to many of the most prestigious names in the Philippine society and played host to numerous noteworthy gatherings.
Health Protocols
BBC assures that the health and safety of their guests are their top priority. Starting from its gate entrance, a Customer Relations Officer greets the visitors and a “No face mask, No entry, No service” policy is strictly implemented; they also see to it that visitors comply with the City’s health protocols. After disembarking, visitors are asked to carry their own luggage to the bellman’s cart as no contact approach is being implemented.
At the entrance, their nurses will check guests’ body temperatures and ask them that they sanitized their hands; visitors luggage will also be sanitized. At the lobby, sanitizing stations, sanitizing maps, floor markers to ensure social distancing, and protective screens are in place.
Hotel Rooms
Every thing is sanitized from trays, pens, room keys and guest’s card; bellman will just assist guests only up to the door of the room. Further, rooms are also disinfected and only offered to next occupants 24 hours after the previous occupants checked out. Room doors are sealed to ensure that no one has used them. A safety kit is provided in each room which includes a face mask and a sanitizer. Linens and towels are set up according to the number of nights of stay; make-up room and turndown services are also temporarily suspended.
Dining, Fitness, and Recreation
Guests can enjoy their meals at the Club’s restaurant outlet; tables are set up one meter apart and protective plastic stands were also set up between tables. Room service is temporarily suspended; limited menus can be ordered thru order form while self-service is being implemented.
Those guests who want to indulge into recreational activities like swimming, billiards, golf and other activities they may do so provided they observe personal and health protocols. For example, if guests want to try their gym they must bring their own towels and exercise mat; guests are asked to sanitized the equipment they used by the alcohol-based sanitizer provided by the Club. The attendants also sanitize the equipment after every used for 15 minutes.
