Travelers looking for their next Philippine getaway and tourism enterprises seeking to reach more customers have an innovative reason to connect in the recently-launched Discover More to Love platform, says the Department of Tourism-Central Visayas (DOT7).
Discover More to Love, a nationwide tourism and economic activation movement, has expanded into a digital platform bringing destinations, experiences and special tourism offers closer to the traveling public.
For travelers, the platform means more choices and greater value. For hotels, resorts, tour operators, attractions, travel agencies and other tourism businesses, it provides an additional digital shop window for their products and services, placing their offers where travelers are increasingly looking and planning.
Central Visayas is already represented on the platform, with deals of up to 60% off on accommodations, and freshly-minted attractions like the Slow Food Experience, also currently offered at a discount. Among a significant number, Costabella Tropical Beach Hotel, one of Mactan Island’s most popular resorts, and Best Western Plus The Ivywall Resort Panglao are offering 48% and 55% discounts on room bookings, respectively, until November 2026.
“Discover More to Love is an opportunity for both sides of the tourism equation— we want travelers to explore, including the convenience of being able to compare offers for value, while giving our tourism stakeholders another platform through which they can be discovered,” says DOT7 Regional Director Gelena Asis-Dimpas. “Representation on the platform also includes access to active, sustained promotions abroad through the DOT’s 12 Foreign Offices and 5 Market Representatives,” she adds.
Travelers and tourism enterprises can access the platform through the DOT website tourism.gov.ph.
Once on the landing page, guests can browse the platform by destination, tourism category, discount or price; view the details, inclusions and conditions of an offer; and proceed through the indicated booking or partner channel. Offers and availability may change, so travelers are advised to check current details before booking. The platform currently carries offers from hotels, airlines, tour operators, attractions and other tourism partners.
DOT-accredited enterprises may submit to the DOT7 details of existing promotions, packages or distinctive experiences for possible inclusion in Discover More To Love. Offers will be qualified for uploading on the platform.
Establishments and service providers that have yet to secure accreditation are encouraged to take the necessary steps to become accredited. Accreditation boosts credibility, quality assurance and eligibility for applicable DOT programs and promotional opportunities.
Accreditation remains at zero-fee. This measure was adopted in 2022 as part of the DOT’s COVID-19 response, and was extended as the industry continued its recovery.
Enterprises may apply by creating an account, providing the required information and submitting the supporting documents on the DOT Accreditation Portal.
