Marriott International, Inc. and Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio, a complex development project by Cangio Tourist City Corporation announce the signing of two new hotels that will be integral to the development of a major new tourism destination in southern Vietnam. The Ritz-Carlton, Can Gio and Can Gio Marriott Hotel are expected to bring a total of 700 rooms plus world-class facilities for leisure, wellness and events to Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City’s only coastal district, which is famed for its UNESCO-listed mangrove biosphere reserve.

Located approximately 50km southeast of downtown Ho Chi Minh City and connected by a new expressway that is set to provide direct road access by 2028-29, this area is being transformed by Vinpearl to develop the Can Gio Coastal Urban Tourism Area, an eco-conscious tourism, business and residential zone. This 2,870-hectare project will be woven seamlessly into the landscape with global branded hotels, resorts and residences, a theme park, 36-hole golf complex, convention center, wellness centers, and more.

Under this agreement, Vinpearl – a member of Vingroup – manages and directly executes the collaboration with Marriott, while coordinating closely with all relevant parties throughout the project’s development and operational phases.

“Marriott International’s long-term relationship with Vinpearl has shaped Vietnam’s hospitality landscape over the years. Today we have 11 operating properties with Vinpearl and more in the pipeline. We are excited to introduce The Ritz-Carlton and our flagship brand, Marriott Hotels to Can Gio, the coastal area of Ho Chi Minh City.”

“We are delighted to expand our collaboration with Marriott International. Enhancing the guest experience in Can Gio through the world class hospitality of The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Hotels marks a strategic step in bringing global luxury service standards to Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio. Beyond developing global branded hotels, we aim to build a fully integrated service ecosystem where residents and visitors can enjoy world class hospitality standards right here in Vietnam.” added Ngo Thi Huong, Chief Executive Officer, Vinpearl.

The Ritz-Carlton, Can Gio is set to command a prime riverfront location in the heart of the Can Gio Urban Tourism Area. Anticipated opening by end of 2027, the nine-story luxury hotel is expected to offer 250 elegantly appointed rooms, suites, and one- to three-bedroom pool villas, ranging from 50 to 500 square meters. Plans for the property include six distinctive restaurants and bars, two resort-style swimming pools, and a spa featuring hydrothermal facilities and a meditation pavilion, alongside a fitness center, beauty salon, and a Ritz Kids club. The hotel is also expected to feature three function rooms with approximately 540 square meters of naturally lit event space.

Can Gio Marriott Hotel is set to be ideally positioned adjacent to a new opera house and in close proximity to the area’s golf course and sports center. Projected to open at the end of 2027, the 25-story hotel is expected to feature 450 premium rooms and suites, ranging from 40 to 160 square meters. Designed to deliver Marriott Hotels’ signature heartfelt service, the property is anticipated to offer modern, comfortable spaces, including an M Club Lounge, a selection of restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, Quan Spa, and a fitness center. Plans also include approximately 1,570 square meters of versatile meeting and event space, including two ballrooms.

The two hotels will be developed within Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio, a 2,870-hectare coastal mega township southeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Backed by Vingroup, the development is reinforced by landmark infrastructure investments including the Ben Thanh–Can Gio high-speed rail, Can Gio Bridge, and key regional transport links significantly enhancing accessibility and regional connectivity.

This signing marks the latest phase of Marriott’s rapid expansion strategy in Vietnam, where it currently operates 32 properties nationwide, spanning 11 of the group’s extraordinary brands, with more than 50 properties in the development pipeline.
