Megaworld boosts lead in LEED-certified office developments

Property giant Megaworld has reinforced its leadership in green office developments in the Philippines following the certification of its newest office tower in Iloilo Business Park, which expanded its portfolio of LEED-certified and registered office properties to 32—currently the most in the Philippine real estate industry.

Enterprise Two, Megaworld’s newest 12-storey office tower within its 72-hectare township in Iloilo City, recently received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), further widening the company’s lead in sustainable office developments.

This latest recognition raises Megaworld’s count of LEED-certified office buildings to 24, comprising 12 LEED Gold-certified and 12 LEED Silver-certified towers, with other developments already registered for LEED. Additional certifications are expected later this year.

Megaworld’s growing roster of LEED Gold-certified office developments includes 8 Campus Building A, B, and C, and Southeast Asian Campus in McKinley Hill, Taguig City; 10 West Campus, and One Le Grand Tower in McKinley West, Taguig; Worldwide Plaza (JPMorgan Chase Tower), and Uptown Eastgate in Uptown Bonifacio also in Taguig; One Paseo in Arcovia City, Pasig City; No. 1 Upper East Avenue in The Upper East, Bacolod City; and Enterprise One in Iloilo Business Park.

LEED Silver-certified office towers include Uptown Place Towers 1, 2, and 3; Alliance Global Tower; International Finance Center (JPMorgan Chase Center) in Uptown Bonifacio; Le Grand Avenue Towers 5, 9, 11, 15, 19, and 21 in McKinley West; and Pasudeco Tower at Capital Town in the City of San Fernando City, Pampanga.

Developed by the USGBC, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world’s most widely used green building rating system. It provides a framework for designing and operating healthy, efficient, and cost-effective buildings while significantly reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact.

Enterprise Two is the second LEED Gold-certified office building in Western Visayas, following Enterprise One, which was the first office development in the region to achieve the certification.

With a total gross leasable area of 39,000 square meters, Enterprise Two is among Megaworld’s largest office towers in Western Visayas. It features one of the city’s largest office floor plates at 4,000 square meters, making it an ideal hub for IT-BPM firms and companies expanding their operations in the region.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the building incorporates a range of green features, including a rainwater harvesting system, double-glazed windows for improved energy efficiency, a highly reflective roof coating to reduce heat island effect, and low-flow water fixtures in restrooms. It also promotes eco-friendly mobility through electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle racks, and convenient access to public transportation.
