Flavors, culinary practices, showcased at iconic Bohol Bee Farm

ASEAN delegates from the finance and central banking sector got a deeper taste of Bohol’s food heritage as they witnessed up close how homegrown goods are transformed into plated meals and packaged delicacies through a series of culinary activities at the Bohol Bee Farm recently.

Featuring locally-sourced organic products, the carousel tour hosted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) offered cooking demonstrations and taste samplings of Bohol’s sweet specialties, including calamay, ube biko, ice cream, chocolate products, and flavored spreads, among others.

The delegates also got to see the traditional practice of raffia weaving, a distinct Boholano art form that produces various handicrafts and home decoration materials.

The tour also highlighted tourism’s economic opportunities as the activities directly engaged Bohol’s farmers, artisans, cooks, weavers, and other local businesses.

This culinary journey forms part of the Philippines’ ASEAN 2026 chairship that aims to feature the country’s tourist attractions and experiences internationally.
