In the face of challenges brought by recent natural disasters, from the ongoing typhoon in Cebu to the earthquakes that have tested the Filipino peopleโ€™s strength, the Philippines continues to rise in the world stage with courage and compassion.

Led by Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, the Philippines returns to the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025 with renewed purpose: to tell the world that sustainability is not an abstract ideal for Filipinos, but a lived reality, one born of resilience, hope, and unity.

โ€œOur country is currently facing a typhoon, and it has done so for many months now, not to mention other disasters such as earthquakes. Therefore, this conversation is more relevant now than ever,โ€ said the Tourism Chief during the Ministers’ Summit at the WTM in association with UN Tourism and the World Travel And Tourism Council (WTTC).

Joining tourism leaders from all over the world, Frasco noted that โ€œSustainability for us is not mere theory, it is our lifeline. We pursue tourism that is people-centered and future-centric, knowing that millions depend on our collective ability to protect and strengthen our destinations for generations to come.โ€

The WTM London is considered as the world’s most influential travel and tourism event that serves an annual gathering of leaders, ministers, and industry professionals.

This yearโ€™s Philippine participation debuts with a 330 sqm Philippine Pavilion themed โ€œLove the Philippines Experienceโ€ that features Filipino wellness traditions, local coffee tastings, and cultural showcases that reflect the creativity and warmth of the Filipino people.

Together with the Tourism Promotions Board – Philippines and 27 exhibitors from the public and private sectors, the Philippine delegation reaffirms its commitment to responsible, inclusive, and sustainable tourism, proving that even in times of great challenge, the Filipino story remains one of strength, faith, and love for our country.

The UK remains one of the Philippinesโ€™ top source markets for visitors, with emerging trends pointing toward sustainable, digital, and experience-driven travel, areas where the country continues to align its tourism strategies.
