The 1st meeting of the Davao Tourism Council for 2023 brought together key stakeholders to address crucial tourism-related issues.
The meeting was held last May 19 and presided by Atty. Janis Louis H. Esparcia, Assistant City Administrator (Operations) in behalf of City Government of Davao, Hon. Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte, Davao Tourism Council Chairperson.
The session commenced with a thorough review of the Tourism Council of Davao City Executive Order No. 58, Series of 2022, followed by an acknowledgment of the current official representatives. This provided a foundation for the council members to align their efforts and work towards the shared goal of promoting tourism in Davao City.
A few of the agenda tackled was the comprehensive updates and reports on the Hotel Occupancy in Davao City presented by the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) encompassing a comparative analysis of data from January to April 2022 and January to April 2023. This analysis shed light on the performance and trends within the local hospitality sector, enabling the council to identify areas for improvement and devise strategies to enhance visitor experiences.
Additionally, the meeting included a presentation of the post-evaluation of the Meetings, Incentives Travel, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) Conference 2023, assessing its impact and exploring opportunities for future growth.
Furthermore, the council received updates on the preparations for the upcoming 38th Kadayawan Festival of Davao City in 2023, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration for the success of this significant cultural event.
