The Municipality of Malay received a Plaque of Appreciation from the Department of Tourism Region VI during the 1st Tourism Appreciation Night with the theme “Pagdayaw 2023” in line with the celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of the Department of Tourism held on the 17th of May 2023 at Zuri Hotel Iloilo,City.
This recognition was proudly received by the Chief Tourism Operations Officer, Mr. Felix Delos Santos Jr., as Malay was hailed as one of the top contributing municipalities in the tourist arrivals report in the entire Western Visayas for the calendar year 2022.
Moreover, Boracay MICE Alliance, people’s organization, was also recognized for their invaluable support extended in the recovery and development efforts of the Western Visayas tourism industry, which was represented by Mr. Elmar Lina, Boracay MICE Alliance President and its Chairman Ms. Cleofe Albiso.
LGU Malay, under the leadership of Hon Frolibar S. Bautista, through the Municipal Tourism Office headed by Mr. Felix Delos Santos Jr., is extending its appreciation to the Department of Tourism Region VI under the supervision of Regional Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez alongside with DOT Usec Ferdinand “Cocoy” Jumapao for the honor and recognition given to the Municipality of Malay as one of the outstanding partners in the speedy recovery and continuous progress of the region’s tourism industry.f
