Club Intramuros Golf Course (CIGC), one of the properties owned by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) hosted the 2023 Tourism Cup on February 24, 2023. Department of Tourism Undersecretary Ferdinand C. Jumapao, TIEZA Board of Director Roy B. Martin, and TIEZA Assistant Chief Operating Officer for Assets Management Sector Jetro Nicolas F. Lozada led the ceremonial tee-off.
Joining the successful event were representatives from the government and private sector, local and foreign players. The occasion rekindled camaraderie both for new and old golf enthusiasts and provided optimism for the golf course workers, especially the caddies.
The event was in support of the golf recovery program of the industry after the pandemic. Likewise, the tournament was intended to promote golf as a fun and safe leisure activity for amateur and professional golfers alike.
Club Intramuros Golf Course (CIGC) is an 18-hole par 66 short courses located within the Walled City of Manila. This 18-hole course is the only golf course that offers night golf in Metro Manila. Established in 1907, CIGC is one of the oldest golf courses in the Philippines. It is part of the historical Intramuros surrounding Fort Santiago.
