Ilocos Norte opens first floating playground in Northern Luzon

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte opened recently the first floating playground in Northern Luzon at the Paoay Lake, near the Malacañang ti Amianan, in Barangay Suba, Paoay.

Dubbed “Paoay Lake Water Park,” the 4200-square meter inflatable boasts gigantic slides, swings, launchers, and an inflatable pool. The Bali-inspired “I’m IN Lounge” by the lakeshore also features at least 120 pairs of vibrant umbrellas and bean bags.

For the attraction’s initial promo, Ilocos Norte residents will be offered discounts. However, only fully vaccinated guests will be accepted to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.

The “Paoay Lake Water Park” is projected to exponentially boost domestic tourism and ensure stable employment and livelihood opportunities for many industry workers and local business owners.

“This calamity made us further appreciate our wealth of natural sites and allowed us to highlight our natural, outdoor tourist attractions. We are more than ready for the full revival of our tourism industry and we look forward to welcoming our kababayans to Ilocos Norte,” remarked Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc.

Other activities in the park include playing beach volleyball, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

Ilocos Norte was the first province in the Philippines to be awarded the World Travel and Tourism Council Safe Travels Stamp for its adoption of globally recognized health and safety protocols. Moreover, its active tourism workers are 100% fully vaccinated.
